In honor of Women’s History Month, we celebrate the accomplishments of Valderia Brunson, an exceptional legal leader. Valderia holds a dual role within her company. She continues to serve as the Deputy General Counsel for her parent company, Learning Technologies Group Plc, a market leader in fast growing workplace digital learning and talent management market. She is the Senior Vice President and Head of Legal at GP Strategies Corporation, the world’s leading talent transformation providers with over 5,000 employees worldwide.
Valderia's journey is a testament to her resilience, ambition, and dedication. A proud graduate of UNC Charlotte, she holds a double major in Political Science and Special Education. Before embarking on her legal career, she spent two enriching years teaching first grade at a private school. The experience of motivating her students to believe in their limitless potential inspired her to chase her own dream of becoming an attorney. She enrolled in law school at North Carolina Central School of Law in Durham, NC. In 2000, she graduated and began her legal career. After several years in private practice, her path led her to a SaaS-based company in Raleigh, NC, where she started as a Senior Contracts Administrator. Recognizing her talent and dedication, the company quickly promoted her to Corporate Counsel. She continued to rise through the ranks, serving as Senior Corporate Counsel and even stepping in as interim General Counsel for a few months. In November 2021, a significant year for her, she was elevated to Deputy General Counsel.
Also, in November 2021, Valderia joined Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated through the Beta Lambda Sigma alumnae chapter in Raleigh, NC, where she currently serves as the Parliamentarian. Her journey didn’t stop there. In 2024, she was appointed as the SVP and Head of Legal of GP Strategies Corporation. Beyond her professional achievements, she is a proud mother to her son, Isaiah, a college student and budding entrepreneur. She is also the loving wife of Emanuel Brunson, Jr., a member of the Raleigh (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Her story is a powerful reminder of the potential within each of us to achieve our dreams and make a difference. As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor her and all the women who continue to break barriers and inspire others.
