Ties of Love is a virtual blanket making event to donate safety blankets to SAFEchild which will comfort children who have experienced abuse. SAFEchild (Stop Abuse For Every child) “annually protects 13,000 children, empowers 1,650 parents through education and support programs, and guides 12,000 Wake County first graders through the school-based Funny Tummy Feelings program.”
Event Materials ($20-$40):
Scissors (able to cut through fabric)
2 pieces of 2-yard length of coordinating fleece (Purchase fleece or fleece kits from www.yourfleece.com or a fabric store.)
Ruler
Blank note card with envelope
Prework:
Purchase fabric and gather other materials

Prep project such that only knot tying is left to do (i.e. Cut 5x5 boxes on corners and strips around blanket.)
Write the following message note card: “This blanket was made with love and hope by (your name).”
